Adopted into God's Family

Ephesians 1:3-6
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: 4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: 5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

John 1:12-13
12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Thoughts:
Today, we reflect on the incredible truth of our adoption into God's family. As we read in Ephesians, God predestined us for adoption as His children through Jesus Christ. This wasn't an afterthought or a backup plan - it was His intention from the beginning.

Consider the profound implications of this truth. You are not an outsider or a guest in God's house… You are His child, fully accepted and loved. John 1:12-13 reminds us that this adoption is not based on our own merits or efforts, but on God's will and our faith in Christ.

Take a moment to let this sink in. How does knowing you're adopted by God change your perspective on your identity and worth? How could it affect the way you approach challenges or failures in your life?

Prayer:
Father, thank You for adopting me into Your family. Help me to live in the confidence and security of being Your child. May this truth shape my actions and attitudes today.
