The Daily Wardrobe Change

2 Corinthians 3:18
18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

Hebrews 12:1-2
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Thoughts:
Sanctification is the daily discipline of changing clothes. We must intentionally remove the garments of our former life, not carelessly tossing them aside, but thoughtfully setting aside every weight and sin that hinders our race. This requires looking seriously into the mirror of God's Word, beholding Christ's glory with unmasked faces. As we set our eyes on Him, the Spirit transforms us steadily from one degree of glory to another. This is not passive; it demands our active participation. What "weights" or "sins" are you still holding on to that prevent your spiritual progress? Perhaps it's unforgiveness, a compromising relationship, or entertainment that dulls your sensitivity to God.

Prayer:
Ask the Lord to help you identify one specific burden and lay it aside with intention, fixing your eyes on Jesus.
