Created for Good Works
Ephesians 2:10
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Thoughts:
Yesterday, we learned that we are not saved by works. Today, we see that we are saved for works. We are God's workmanship, His masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared in advance for us to do.
This verse beautifully balances yesterday's emphasis on grace. While our good works don't save us, they are an fundamental part of God's purpose for our lives. He has a plan for each of us and good works He intends us to walk in.
What good works might God have prepared in advance for you? How can you be more attentive to the opportunities He places before you each day?
Prayer:
Ask God to help you see and seize these opportunities to be His hands and feet in the world.
