Letting Go of the Old
Colossians 3:1-2
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Thought:
As believers, we are called to set our eyes on Christ rather than worldly desires. Just as the Israelites were freed from Egypt but still longed for its comforts, we too may find ourselves attached to past sins or habits. This scripture encourages us to realign our focus. Embrace the new life in Christ by shifting our affections to heavenly things. Seek what is eternal and let go of what holds you back. The journey of sanctification requires a daily commitment to look upwards, not backwards.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, help me to set my sights on things above. Shift my desires from earthly temptations and align my heart with Your will. Place in me a longing for Your presence and guidance daily. In Christ's name, Amen.
