Building Altars of Renewal

Genesis 35:6-7
So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is, Bethel, he and all the people that were with him. And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother.

Thoughts:
Upon returning to Bethel, Jacob took the significant step of rebuilding the altar, which served as a powerful testimony of God’s unwavering faithfulness and his own steadfast commitment to Him. Altars have historically been profound symbols, representing places of sacrifice, divine encounter, and the establishment of covenants with God. In a similar way, it can be beneficial to consider creating ‘altars’ in your daily routine; specific times and designated places where you can intentionally meet with God. These moments can be used to reflect on His promises, seek His guidance, and renew your dedication to Him. It helps us connect more deeply with our spirituality and grow as His children.

Prayer:
Father, help me to build altars in my life where I can meet with You. May these moments of renewal, sacrifice, and communion deepen my relationship with You and strengthen my faith. In Jesus' name, Amen.
