Breaking Down Walls

Ephesians 2:14-18
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us; 15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; 16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby: 17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh. 18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Thoughts:
Paul speaks of Christ breaking down the “middle wall of partition" (v.14). In the context of Jews and Gentiles, this was a powerful metaphor for the reconciliation Christ brings. But what walls exist in your life today? Perhaps there are barriers between you and certain people, or invisible walls you've built to protect yourself from hurt.

Christ's work on the cross wasn't just about reconciling us to God, but also to each other. His peace breaks down walls and creates unity where there was once division. Today, ask God to reveal any walls in your heart that need to come down. Is there someone you need to forgive? A prejudice you need to confront? Remember, through Christ, we all have access to the Father by one Spirit (v.18). Let this truth guide you towards unity and reconciliation in your relationships.

Prayer:
Show me, Lord, my heart. Reveal and convict me of the walls that I have built.
