Called with Purpose

Ephesians 4:1-3
1 I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, 2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; 3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Thoughts:
Paul wrote as a prisoner, yet he referred to himself as "the prisoner of the Lord." His chains did not define his purpose; God's calling did. You have been invited into something far greater than your circumstances. The Greek word "klēsis" speaks of a divine invitation to embrace salvation and walk worthy in it. Today, consider: What post has God entrusted to you? Whether in a cubicle, classroom, or kitchen, you stand on holy ground. Your situation may feel confining, but like Paul, you can turn your prison into a palace.

Prayer:
Ask God to help you live with humility and meekness, knowing that God-worthy living begins when you lift your eyes beyond your circumstances to the One who called you.
