Drawing Near to God

Hebrews 10:19-22
19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

Today’s passage reminds us of the incredible gift we have in Christ - direct access to God. Through Jesus’ sacrifice, the barrier between us and God’s presence has been torn down. We can now approach God with confidence, not because of our own worthiness, but because of Christ’s perfect work. As you think about this truth, consider: How often do you make use of this access? Do you approach God with a genuine heart and a full assurance of faith?

Prayer:
Take time today to draw near to God, thanking Him for this precious gift and asking Him to cleanse your heart from any barriers that might be hindering your closeness with Him.
