Unequally Yoked

2 Corinthians 6:14-18
14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

1 Corinthians 15:33
33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Thoughts:
Paul's warning against being unequally yoked with unbelievers is a call to spiritual discernment. This doesn't mean isolating ourselves from the world; rather, it means being cautious about our close relationships and partnerships. The principle extends beyond just marriage to our business dealings, close friendships, and life choices.

Consider your closest relationships and regular activities. Do they draw you closer to God or pull you away? Are there areas in your life where you've compromised your values or faith for the sake of fitting in or for personal gain? Remember, as believers, we are called to be in the world but not of it.

Take time to evaluate your relationships and commitments. Ask God for wisdom in maintaining a balance between engaging with the world and preserving your spiritual integrity. Seek out relationships and activities that encourage your faith and help you grow spiritually.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, grant me discernment in my relationships and choices. Help me to be a light in the world without being tainted by its darkness. Strengthen me to make wise decisions that honor You. Amen.
