The Price of Redemption
1 Peter 1:18-19
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
Thoughts:
The price of our redemption far exceeds silver or gold – it cost the precious blood of Christ. Hosea's purchase of Gomer for thirty pieces of silver foreshadows Jesus being sold for the same amount. Yet, our salvation required an infinitely greater sacrifice. Spend time today meditating on the cross and the immeasurable value God places on your soul. How does understanding the cost of your redemption change the way you view your life and choices?
Prayer:
Pray a prayer of gratitude for Christ's sacrifice and let it motivate you to live fully for Him.
