Walking Humbly with God

James 4:6-10
6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Thoughts:
Micah 6:8 calls us to "walk humbly with your God." James expands on this, urging us to humble ourselves before the Lord. This humility isn't about self-deprecation, but about recognizing our dependence on God and submitting to His will. Humility is not a work but it it is an action. An act of surrendering our will and desire to the purpose and desires of our God. Reflect on areas of pride in your life. Where do you rely on your own strength instead of God's?

Prayer:
Today, ask for humility by surrendering a specific area to God. It might be a relationship, a work situation, or a personal struggle. Ask God to take control, and commit to following His lead, even if it differs from your own plans.
