A Sweet Aroma to God

Ephesians 5:1-2
1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

2 Corinthians 2:14-15
14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. 15 For we are unto God a sweet savour of Christ, in them that are saved, and in them that perish:

Thoughts:
The burnt offering in ancient Israel was consumed entirely; nothing was held back. This complete surrender represents how Christ gave Himself for us, and how we should live for Him. When we walk in love and total consecration, our lives emit a spiritual fragrance that rises to God as worship. This aroma is pleasing to the Father, just as He was pleased with His Son. But here's the challenge: this same fragrance that blesses believers often repels those living in darkness. Are you willing to be a sweet aroma to God even when it means not fitting in with the world? Total surrender isn't comfortable, but it's the pathway to becoming truly useful in God's hands.

Prayer:
What areas of your life are you still holding back from God's altar? Ask Him to show you today.
