Passing Through to Glory

Philippians 3:17-21
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

Hebrews 11:13-16
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. 14 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. 15 And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. 16 But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.

Thoughts:
God is "through all"—the Greek "dia" means passing through, intersecting time with eternity. Jesus borrowed a donkey, carried a used cross, and laid in a borrowed tomb because He was only passing through. Calvary was not His destination but His pathway. The turbulence you face today, the whirlpools threatening to pull you under, the falls that seem intent on drowning you; these are not your final stop. Hold on. You are going to make it through. Your citizenship is in heaven. Like Jesus, you need not settle in or get comfortable with earth's temporary accommodations. Lay down your anxiety and fear. Stop clinging to what you were never meant to keep. You have just stopped by on your way home. Walk with purpose, power, and perfection in the progress of God's eternal plan.

Prayer:
Ask God for clear and purposeful vision. Confess to Him your fears today and ask Him to remove those thoughts.
