God Rewards Those Who Seek Him

Hebrews 11:6
“…and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

Thought
God is not distant and cold toward those who seek Him. He is a rewarder. That means He responds to those who come to Him in faith. He hears. He sees. He answers. He draws near. He gives Himself to those who earnestly desire Him.

The greatest reward God gives is Himself. He gives us His Son for our salvation. He gives us His Spirit for our comfort and strength. He gives us His presence to walk with us. Every other blessing flows from this: God gives Himself to the one who seeks Him.

Enoch did not just seek God once. He walked with God throughout his life. His faith was steady and sincere. God saw that faith and was pleased. Enoch did not seek God in vain. God rewarded his faith with close fellowship and finally with translating him to Himself without seeing death.

Many people want only a “fire insurance” faith. They want to escape hell but do not want a relationship with God. They want Jesus as Savior but not as Lord. They want heaven later but not holiness now. That is not diligent seeking.

Diligently seeking God means we desire Him, not just His gifts. We want to know Him, not just escape judgment. When we seek God Himself, we discover that He is the greatest reward. His presence brings peace that the world cannot give. His love brings joy that the world cannot take away.

Prayer
Father, in Jesus name, I thank You that You are a rewarder of those who seek You. Forgive me for the times I have only wanted what You can give and not wanted You Yourself. Put in my heart a deeper desire to know You, love You, and walk with You. Help me to seek You in Your word and in prayer with a sincere and steady heart. Let my greatest treasure be Your presence, both now and forever. In Jesus name, Amen.
