The Invitation to the Feast

Luke 14:16-17
16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready.

Thoughts:
In the wonderful story of the great supper Jesus shared, we see how much God loves us and how easily we can forget it. So many were invited to this heavenly feast, but many turned it down, giving empty excuses. This story reminds us of the spiritual invitations we get today, especially the invitation to join Christ’s eternal feast. In our busy lives, we often get caught up in things that don’t matter, which can make us turn down this special invitation. It’s a call to look inside and see what stops us from really accepting His invitation. Let’s not forget how much joy and happiness we can find in the divine feast God has prepared, a celebration of eternal friendship and grace.

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for inviting me to Your table. Remove the distractions that hinder my acceptance of Your call, and fill me with a longing to be in Your presence, to dine at Your heavenly banquet of grace and love. Amen.
