The Nucleus Of The Heart

Romans 12:3
For I say through the grace given unto me to every man that is among you not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think but to think soberly according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Thought:
In a cell the nucleus is the command center. It holds the instructions that tell the cell how to grow, how to function, and how to respond. If the instructions in the nucleus are damaged the whole cell is affected. It may stop working correctly or even turn against the body.

Faith is like the command center of the Christian life. God has given to every believer a measure of faith. True faith submits to God’s authority and trusts His Word as the instruction for life. Faith listens to God and then acts on what He says even when feelings or circumstances are difficult.

When faith is displaced or corrupted our inner instructions are wrong. Instead of living for God and for others, we begin to live for ourselves. Ministry then turns inward and becomes about control, pride, or self protection. A church may still be busy, but it is not truly living by faith.

When faith is central, the church is healthy. The people of God take God at His Word. They trust His promises, obey His commands, and rest in His character. This kind of faith directs every part of life. It shapes how we think about ourselves, how we treat others, and how we serve in the body. Where faith is strong the body of Christ is guided rightly.

Prayer:
Father God, thank You that You have given me a measure of faith. I confess that at times I let fear, pride, or doubt control my thinking instead of trusting You. Please cleanse the command center of my heart. Let Your Word be my true instruction. Teach me to walk by faith and not by sight. Direct my thoughts and choices so that my life will follow Your will. I pray in Jesus name amen.
