United For Mission

John 17:20-21
Neither pray I for these alone but for them also which shall believe on me through their word that they all may be one as thou Father art in me and I in thee that they also may be one in us that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

Thought:
Jesus looked beyond the first disciples and prayed for all who would believe through their word. That includes every believer today. His prayer was not only for our protection and holiness but also for our unity. This unity is not mere agreement on every preference but a shared life in Christ that reflects the oneness between the Father and the Son. When believers walk in love, forgiveness, and humility toward one another the watching world sees a living testimony that Jesus truly is the Son of God.

To fulfill this prayer we must guard against division rooted in pride, selfishness, or secondary issues. The enemy loves to distract the church from its mission by turning us against each other. Instead we are called to pursue reconciliation, serve one another, and place the Gospel above our personal preferences. Ask yourself Is there a believer I need to forgive or a relationship I need to repair. As we live in unity shaped by truth and love the world gains a clearer picture of Christ and His saving power through our shared testimonies.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus thank You that You prayed for me long before I was born. You desire that I live in unity with my brothers and sisters so that the world may believe You were sent by the Father. Forgive me for attitudes and actions that create division. Help me to walk in humility to seek reconciliation and to love Your people well. Use our unity to display Your glory and draw many to salvation. I ask this in Your name Jesus Amen.
