Let Me See Time as You See it, Lord.

1 Peter 4:7
But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.

Thought:
Peter’s words remind us that history is not random. God is moving everything toward a definite conclusion. The end of all things is not simply a stopping point. It is the completion of God’s redemptive plan in Christ. When Peter says the end is at hand, he means it is near enough to matter right now. The return of Christ and the finish of God’s plan are close enough that they should shape how we think, what we value, and how we spend our days.

This truth confronts our casual and sometimes apathetic attitude toward time. We often live as if there will always be a later time to pray, a later time to obey, a later time to repent, and a later time to serve. Scripture destroys that idea. Our days are like a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes. To live wisely is to see time as a sacred blessing, not an endless supply. Ask yourself today, if I truly believed that time is short and Jesus could come at any moment, what would I stop doing, and what would I start doing? Let that question guide your choices, your priorities, and your conversations.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You that history is in Your hands and not in mine. Help me to see my time as You see it. Wake me up from spiritual laziness and casual living. Show me anything I have been putting off that You want me to do today. Teach me to live every moment aware that the end of all things is at hand and that my life belongs to You. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
