Establish Your Heart
James 5:8
Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
Thought:
The hope of Christ’s return gives strength to suffering believers. If you have lived in this life long enough you know that this world includes pain, disappointment, weariness, and waiting. But Scripture reminds us that the coming of the Lord draws nigh, or is very close. Our suffering is not final, and our waiting is not wasted.
To establish your heart means to become settled in faith and steady in hope. Do not allow delays, difficult trials, or unanswered questions to loosen your grip on faith in Jesus. Remember that one day faith will become sight. Until then, stand firm, pray faithfully, love deeply, and live for God’s glory.
Prayer:
Father, establish my heart in Your truth. When I grow weary, remind me that Jesus is coming again. Help me to remain patient, faithful, and hopeful until I see Him face to face. In Jesus' glorious name, amen.
